Holiday in Brela will definitely be a treat for those who love to sunbathe on a pebble beach and we bring you some top locations for that.

Brela is a small town that lies on a narrow coastal strip that separates Biokovo mountain from the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. It is part of famous Makarska riviera, where tourism has a long tradition and summer offer of accommodation and entertainment is excellent. One of the things that makes Brela and other nearby towns and places stand out is breathtaking scenery – magnificent Biokovo mountain towers over beautiful pebble beaches on north side, while central Dalmatian islands of Brač and Hvar frame the scene on the south.

With such beautiful landscape, it is no wonder there are several beaches in Brela that deserve your attention. Although you can find great accommodation such as a house or a villa with pool in Brela, be sure to indulge in sun bathing on any of its wonderful beaches that are dotted along the Brela coast. Enjoying your privacy at the pool of your luxury villa with a good book is also a great vacation, but since most of the properties located in Brela are situated near the sea, it would be a shame if you missed swimming in the sea at one of its wonderful beaches.

The shade of the pine trees, gentle waves splashing, views of the nearby islands.. it's all tempting you to grab your towel and find your spot on the beach. Here is our selection of top 3:

Punta rata
In 2004 US magazine Forbes featured one Brela beach in its Best Summer Beaches article that included the most beautiful beach locations from all over the world: Punta rata beach. This beach is perhaps the most famous one, as there is a unique rock that is anchored in front of the coast. A big boulder that fell into the shallow sea sometime in the past now has a couple of trees growing from it and it is a symbol of Brela, featured on many photos, postcards and in promotions of Croatian tourism.

Podraće
Right next to Punta rata, Podraće beach is located. It is the most photographed beach not just in Brela, but in Croatia as well. It's hidden among the rocks, peaceful and well preserved, despite the fact that there are houses as well. The big rock that closes it on the outer side was once used by the local people to harvest sea salt as they filled shallow pits on top of it with sea water that would evaporate and leave the salt crystals behind.

Berulia
This pebble beach is great for families – it stretches over three small coves in front of a hotel that bears the same name. Pine trees provide much needed shade during summer heat and there is also a beach bar, restaurant, sun umbrella and deck chair rental service and Aquapark for children that will make the experience of swimming in clean Adriatic waters even better.

Natural beauties of Brela don't stop at the beaches, there's plenty to discover at Biokovo mountain and nearby places as well, but we will tell you more about it in one of our next blogs. Still, we hope that even this is enough to make you book the villa in Brela for your next holiday.
