Take advantage of all the benefits provided by Istria, one of the most beautiful Croatian regions. Apart from Višnjan, a picturesque place where you can visit the famous observatory where as many as 1,500 asteroids and two comets were discovered, Istria hides many other small and fairy-tale places that will take you to another, magical time. From the interior of Istria, with a rustic peace provided by the untouched nature and wine roads, to the beautiful Istrian coast, nearby towns such as Poreč, Umag, Rovinj or Pula on the south, Istria is full of beautiful places that faithfully evoke the Mediterranean as it once was.
Istria is known as the best producer of top indigenous wine varieties such as Malvasia, Teran, Muscat or Merlot, so do not miss to visit one of the many wine cellars and taste some of the top Istrian wines. In addition, Istria is a well-known producer of extra virgin olive oil, and for several years in a row is listed as the best region in the production of this natural elixir.
Istria is also full of historic towns and places where numerous monuments from the Roman and medieval periods have been preserved. For example, nearby Poreč offers famous attractions such as the Euphrasian Basilica, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved monuments of early Byzantine art on Croatian soil. From Poreč you can also go on day trips to Venice, only two hours away by boat.
Indulge in all the charms of magical Istria and enjoy the peace and privacy of the rustic luxury of Villa Appono!
